Friday night

Guess where I went tonight! Not disneyland, although the long drive to the parking lot reminded me of it. So did this talking manequin and all the stuffed animals in various action poses. I went to cabella's - the world's foremost outfitter. I've heard of this place the way I used to hear about ikea. It's now my very own reality. I even got to shoot a rifle at some targets. I got 40 points. The guy I was with got 200 - he's had more practice. He asked if I was even aiming. Anyway, it was a kick in the pants and I learned a new word - distaff. I think that's the spelling. Apparently the second floor had the distaff items. Or is it distaph? I'll have to look it up sometime. Just like ikea, they have a food area. I recommend a visit and maybe one longer than the 8 minutes we had. Did you know guns come in camoflage print? Now I do. And so do you. There were many picture worthy things, but it was this talking camper that pushed me to pull out the camera.

My brother and dad LOVE Cabela's. By the way, do you know where they are headquartered?

Nebraska. It's our only other clamin to fame besides Johnny Carson.

Ummm that should read claim to fame, not clamin to fame. Sometimes I type too fast for my own good.

I've been to Cabela's six or seven times...and I only come home twice a year! I freaking get dragged there pretty much when we get off the plane. Last time I was home in December, I was there three times and we live in Vernal. In Vernal!

sherpa why am i not surprised? after reading your blog - especially this last ww post, i can totally believe that your father would drive down to cabela's three times in the month of december. i think the aquarium and the mountain in the middle of the store were my favorite parts.

It's about the only place in the state that you can get an ostrich burger. Don't eat a venison brat, though. My co-worker did that one time and, well, he was off meet for at least three months. Bad news.
