I so love these flowers. I believe I blogged a photo last summer about them. My mother once pointed out her love for them so I think that's where my bias comes from. They are tallish and floweful and last - unlike other flowers - that's my logical reasons for preferring them.
In other loving news... I love flaming lips. Just now enjoying some spider bite by them. Love the drumming and the whiney sadness. Good stuff.

I like hollyhocks too! I saw a house the other day with them all over the front yard. It was beautiful. Maybe I'll go back and see if I can take a picture.
I like some Flaming Lips stuff, too, Ward - I just ordered this Amnesty International 2-disc CD ("Campaign to Save Darfur") and it's all John Lennon songs covered by comtemporary artists... the F Lips are on there, along with U2, Jack Johnson, Lenny Kravitz, Mick Fleetwood, Green Day, Regina Spektor, etc.)
it's a great couple of discs that will set you back about $27 with shipping, but at least the money (or hopefully MOST of the money) is going to a good cause
by the way... I made myself into a Simpson!

movie release date is July 27 - don't miss it!
can't wait for that one! ward, you've invented my new favorite word, which is "floweful". reminds me of ed. awe.
plewe -that's right! it is like ed. except i meant to type "flowerful" not "floweful" - which i'd spell "flowful" if i meant like ed.
jon - that cd sounds great. and your simpsons character is soooo you! i loved it. much smiling.
cindy - blog the hollyhocks! they're gorgeous! they're all over my neighborhood i've decided. i think i need some.
