celery

i love it. i think it's my favorite vegetable. when it's good. just this morning i read a short article in the ny times about how it's good for you and you should use it. they gave a recipe that involved mushrooms and celery and a lemon vinagrette. sounded great! i generally just eat mine plain or dipped in hummus or spreadable cheese. i have some in the lunch box right now waiting for me.

Ate the heck outta celery as a kid...just occassionally now. My favorite was with peanut butter and/or sprinkled with salt.

I apologize in advance....

There was a comedian waaaaaaay back in the day. I don't recall his name, but I do recall his theory.....it was his belief that we all have belly buttons because we need a place to put the salt in case we eat celery in bed.

I should've hit "delete"...I'll leave now.

I too love celery, so crisp and fresh tasting.

Nope, you're all wrong. Celery's the most pointless food since watermelon. I made a couscous dish the other night that called for celery and I didn't think twice about leaving it out. Stringy and awful!

But don't let me rain on your celery parade :)

As for hummus, it's so great you don't even need to put it on anything. Just gimme a bowl full of hummus and a spoon... Your hummus is yummy. I think I've eaten it at two or three events now.

thank you marie - i AM a fan of hummus and so easy to make. sometimes i say salad is an excuse for people to eat ranch dressing. maybe celery is a good excuse to eat hummus.
