New bed

Years ago i inherited a twin bed. I gave all but the top mattress to my brother and sister in law. Well now they are moving and they returned the box spring with a new bed frame. Not exactly new. It used to belong to my sister in law's grandma. It needed a new paint job, though. I ventured to the walmart and bought a few cans of rustoleum and got busy. Bits of my grass are now red and my feet look a bit sunburned but i have a beautiful new bed frame to show for it! Thanks jeana!

Story time

I am playing with my nieces today while their mother works on getting things ready to move to California. Our adventure begins with story time at the lehi library. I am impressed. 

The COB

I got to go to the COB for lunch yesterday. It was my first time in their cafeteria. I have heard stories about it for years. I went with danielle and carrie snow. It may have been more exciting if i had actually bought lunch there. They had a piano playing classic disney songs but it was kind of loud. Notice the decor on the walls. 

New haircut

Really the point is to show off my creativity. My hair cutter told me if i want to dress up my new cute cut i can just use a headband. I don't have any i like. The miracle of the internet showed me i could take a necklace and convert it. Voila! I am rather pleased with myself  

Corner girls

Sadly our most recent gathering was missing Biff whose mother passed away last week. Sure love these ladies.

He did rather well too. Unfortunately nobody was all that interested in the candy bar since we had eaten raspberry lemonade cake earlier. Yum !

We had the niece and nephew spend the night last week.  it was lots of fun. They enjoyed going to the park and library. 

This is the beauty of price matching. 30 avocados for 6 dollars. Can't wait for my garden tomatoes to be grown and i can pull these out of the freezer to make guac. 

Living art

The coolest thing i saw at the grand opening were these "statues". When i went to the rest room i saw a couple women on there with metallic paint all over their faces. Only later did i see this gold colored woman with flowers subtley moving. I think she was a hiya with everyone. I only wish i had seen them change. Besides this one with roses there was one with sunflowers. I never did see if there was one at another spot in the complex. 

City creek grand opening

I have the best back row seat of the house. I got to see the prophet and his counselors. So far it is all very exciting. Later i get to wander the block helping people work the new parking meters. 

Home Grown Green Onions

Look i am growing green onions in my window sill. I saw this idea on pinterest and i am thrilled to say it is working! All you do is put the leftover white part in a jar of water and it grows more green parts. Supposedly i can cut off green parts as they grow and As i need them and they will regrow. 

Lemon pie

There are few things I enjoy baking as much as lemon meringue pie. And my favorite part is when it first comes right out of the oven and the meringue is tall, full, golden brown and just lovely. Can't wait to celebrate Christmas Eve with my family. 

Niece

First christmas present of the year!

Hooray for me!  The gifts started coming early this year. My mom made this Halloween quilt in time to decorate her place.  all I did was admire it and ask for it and next thing I knew she gave it to me. :) I have a talented and generous mother. Wish you could see it better. It's amazing!
